Gateway to climate-neutral civil engineering open

REHAU presents effective new developments at IFAT

29.05.2024

REHAU set new standards at IFAT 2024 in Munich. At the international trade fair for environmental technologies, the system provider presented its first 100% climate-neutral plastic wastewater system nevoPP  , which contains up to 80% recycled material. With this development and other innovations, the company is reaching a new level in sustainable civil engineering. A crowd-puller for trade visitors.

Under the motto "From level to level - building the future together", REHAU left no doubt at the trade fair stand where the journey is heading: the signs are pointing to sustainability. The team led by Dr. Thomas Graf, Sub-Division Manager REHAU Water Infrastructure, presented innovations and tried-and-tested solutions for a sustainable construction industry. REHAU thus underlined its claim to be an innovation leader in the core areas of wastewater and rainwater systems - and was a sought-after discussion partner. Customers and trade visitors took the opportunity to gather information, exchange ideas and network. Among the guests was Thorsten Glauber, Bavarian State Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection. After five days at the trade fair, the more than 80 employees counted more than 1,000 contacts.

Certified and measurable

REHAU revealed a well-kept secret right at the start: The new development nevoPP is the first 100% climate-neutral plastic waste water system1 - a sign of consistent sustainability and circular economy in civil engineering. Only electricity from renewable energy sources is used in production and up to 80 percent of the polypropylene used comes from industrial recyclates. With this development, civil engineering projects are taking a decisive step towards sustainability. For example, local authorities are given an effective lever to significantly reduce their CO2 footprint in civil engineering and make an active contribution to the circular economy. How did REHAU make this leap? Details can be found in the press release on nevoPP.

nevoPP is the first 100% climate-neutral plastic waste water system2. With this development, REHAU is setting an exclamation mark for consistent sustainability and the circular economy in civil engineering.

The reliable RAUSIKKO complete range for rainwater management has been expanded. REHAU supplemented the flexible storage system for collecting, cleaning, infiltrating and draining rainwater with the RAUSIKKO BOX LT variant - a lightweight system designed especially for use under green spaces and in trough-trench systems. REHAU presented the Sedi-Shark for even better cleaning with a smaller footprint. And to make the planning and dimensioning of rainwater management systems even easier, the "RAUSIKKO NEO" software solution has been further developed. User-friendly and intuitive to use, the program can be used directly in the cloud.

The REHAU trade fair team attracted a great deal of interest with the presentation of its shaft-in-shaft modernization. This process allows an old manhole to be renovated and replaced with an AWASCHACHT of the next smallest nominal diameter in the shortest possible time. This is made possible by a digital twin produced on the basis of 3D laser scan data. Corrosion-resistant and resilient and designed for a service life of 100 years

In the outdoor area at the REHAU show truck and in the exhibition hall. The REHAU sales and product management teams were in high demand at IFAT.

The optimum connection

In the outdoor area right next door, visitors were able to get to know the AWADOCK flexible connection systems in the show truck. The product family can be used in a variety of ways and offers a secure solution for the lateral connection of service and secondary pipes - permanently sealed with various materials. Installation is extremely easy, even in confined spaces, as the audience was able to see for themselves "hands on". The new addition AWADOCK Slim DN 160 now also enables lateral connections to liner-rehabilitated pipes in smaller dimensions (DN 250 - DN 500).

New technologies and refined service offerings - REHAU showed how the company has been systematically focusing on climate and environmental protection with its customers, organizations, municipalities and companies for years. The visible results are innovative systems that make a measurable contribution to sustainability, circularity and climate neutrality.

Voices on IFAT 2024:

Patrick Bütow, Sales Manager REHAU Water Infrastructure Germany:
"While IFAT 2022 was still under the motto 'Back to normality', we were able to present many new innovations and developments in 2024. Our convincing and fresh stand concept, including the new nevo pp sewer pipe system, left a 'lasting' impression on our customers. IFAT 2024 was a complete success. The stage was ours!"

Dr. Thomas Graf, Sub-Division Manager REHAU Water Infrastructure:
"In view of the challenging economic situation in Germany and beyond, it was all the more pleasing to see the national and international interest we attracted at IFAT in general, but also at our REHAU stand. The numerous positive feedback we received from our stand visitors confirmed that we have hit the nail on the head with our comprehensive solutions for all aspects of rainwater management and wastewater technology and, in particular, with the innovation of a unique CO2-neutral wastewater system, made possible by additional CO2 compensation."

Fabian Listringhaus Sales Manager REHAU Water Infrastructure International:
"Putting yourself in the shoes of the trade fair visitor and therefore the customer is one of the basic requirements for a successful stand concept. Another equally important criterion is to have an inspired team on site that knows how to communicate the solutions in a committed and customer-oriented manner throughout the entire time. Looking back on IFAT, we can all be proud of our appearance, the new contacts, the feedback and the additional projects and growth opportunities that have arisen as a result."
