As a family business, we think long-term and always take future generations into consideration, something we have done since Helmut Wagner founded the company. The responsible use of resources, durable and innovative products, and sustainable investments are part of our DNA. In 2000, our founding family’s second generation took the reins of the REHAU Group. In 2021, after more than 20 years at the helm of the REHAU Supervisory Board, Jobst Wagner handed over the office of President to his brother Dr. Veit Wagner and took his brother’s role as Vice President.

REHAU began manufacturing medical components in 1957. That same year, the company was involved in the first heart surgery in Germany with silicone tubes. By the time RAUMEDIC was registered as a trademark in 1971, REHAU had already begun developing medical technology solutions for industry, pharmacy, trade, clinics and practices under this name. Since 2004, the name RAUMEDIC is synonymous for the highest medical quality standards, forward-looking material knowledge and a wide range of services for medical technology and the pharmaceutical industry, as well.

Big steps toward the future.

More than 100 years ago, the origins for today's REHAU Group were laid with the beginnings of the Fränkische Lederfabrik. The actual REHAU company was founded by Helmut Wagner, with visionary spirit and entrepreneurial courage in the difficult post-war years. Since then, the REHAU Group has developed independently into a major global group with more than 20,000 employees. As a 100% family-owned company, we think in spans of generations and not short-term profits. Strong roots give the REHAU Group stability and form the basis for further, bigger steps toward the future.
