Just across the Vancouver Harbour, nestled in the Capilano Highlands, lie seven town homes designed to take full advantage of their enviable climate and surroundings. Designed by office of mcfarlane biggar architects + designers inc. (omb) in collaboration with Harbourview Homes, the new urban community is a standout addition to Edgemont Boulevard.

To bring their West Coast design to life, the developers chose high-quality, durable construction materials, including the REHAU PEXa plumbing system installed by Scott Rowland of PipeCraft Mechanical. The REHAU design combines EVERLOC+ compression-sleeve fitting technology with RAUPEX UV shield PEXa pipe to give owners and installers reason to be confident in the security of their plumbing system.

A man of the trade for 25 years, Rowland has seen a lot of different plumbing materials and installation methods. “From all the products I’ve used in the past, EVERLOC+ is by far the fastest and simplest for my employees,” said Rowland. “They are always scared to try something new, but once they did a few joints with it, their fear went away and they’ve loved it ever since.”

Despite the cold, rainy conditions on installation day, the crew was able to work efficiently. “With other products I’ve used, you have to wait for the pipe to shrink back down,” explains Rowland. “With EVERLOC+, you expand the pipe, put the fitting in, and pull the sleeve over top. You know it’s secure, it’s done.”
