Over the years REHAU Polymer has built an enviable reputation of servicing over 400 customers in diverse industry segments with a combination of locally produced products as well as imported specialty products. Our customers range from vehicle OEM’s to furniture and uPVC window & door manufacturers.
In 2008 REHAU decided to invest significantly in South Africa with the installation of state-of-the-art injection molding and painting facility in Port Elizabeth for supply of painted components to VWSA. REHAU’s commitment to South Africa was further strengthened in 2011 with the addition of a just-in-time center (JIT) at our facility in East London for the manufacture and assembly of bumpers for Mercedes Benz South Africa, creating even more job opportunities. Today, the Fort Jackson & Uitenhage sites manufacture and assemble a variety of componentry & large painted parts for supply to a range of vehicles built by customers VWSA, MBSA & Isuzu Motors.
Despite this expansion the company has maintained a solid B-B BEE rating being a level 6 contributor. South Africa remains a cornerstone within the overall REHAU strategy to supply our local market and serve as a springboard for markets in Southern Africa. We presently pride ourselves in servicing customers in Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Kenya, Ghana and the DRC. REHAU’s Construction Division has pioneered the use of polymer in the construction industry – from PVC-U window systems to decorative components and continues to innovate and develop new applications for its advanced polymer materials, replacing conventional materials with more effective polymers.
Focused on sustainable design, REHAU designs and engineers products that enhance comfort and convenience, reduce energy costs, create healthy and safe environments and conserve finite resources.
In South Africa, our range includes products for the furniture manufacturing industries and uPVC window & door systems. REHAU works in partnership with architects and specifiers to offer complete polymer solutions for both the new build and refurbishment sectors. This includes, for example, its REHAU Ecotec/Afrislim thermally efficient uPVC window and door system. With the backing of a global business, REHAU has the resources in South Africa to enable it to provide specialist technical advice and on-site support to customers specifying and installing of the uPVC window and door systems.
The sales offices in Johannesburg and regional representation provides its clients and specifiers the opportunity to discuss the applications and benefits of its product range with its specialist team and see some of the products for themselves.
