South African Family Businesses to Become Part of the REHAU Group

Africa offers diverse market opportunities and potential for growth. At the beginning of 2022, Region Africa was established to develop the opportunities of the continent for REHAU. Now the next important step follows with the acquisition of the owner-managed sister-companies Seal Cool Industries (Pty) (SCI) and Plasmix (Pty).

Located in Johannesburg, Seal Cool Industries, with its sister company Plasmix, is a leading manufacturer of plastic profiles in Africa. It's core competencies lie in the areas of plastic extrusion and injection moulding. With around 100 employees, Seal Cool Industries manufactures a wide range of applications for the construction, furniture, and industrial sectors. Customers are supplied throughout the continent.

This acquisition enables us to achieve significant growth in the Region Africa. On the strong foundation of Seal Cool Industries, REHAU can further expand its’ portfolio in a future-oriented manner. We are also a good fit in terms of our corporate culture. Together, we want to be even more successful on the continent and beyond.

All of Seal Cool Industries' and Plasmix’ approximately 100 employees will be taken over by REHAU. The company's new management team consists of Stephan Van Niekerk, REHAU Country Head South Africa and CEO, as well as the company's existing management: Rudolf Hasert CTO, Karlo Blazevic COO and Mirjana Blazevic CFO. We are pleased to welcome the entire SCI team to the REHAU Group.

In addition to the focus on South Africa, this acquisition will help to further build up the so-called hubs. In 2022, the focus was on Egypt (Hub North) and this year on Kenya (Hub East). Further activities in West Africa and Maghreb are planned for 2024.

The signing took place on 20.10.2023. The acquisition is subject to the approval of The Competition Commission of South Africa.
