A tall order fulfilled

Increased safety, energy savings and low maintenance

The owner of this property required increased security at his home, as well as energy savings and low maintenance.  As REHAU uPVC is only one window and door system that ticks all these boxes, the owner decided to award this project to New Look Window Systems in Cape Town, a REHAU Authorised Partner company.  

In order to achieve increased security, New Look Window Systems manufactured and fitted internally-beaded double glazed windows with laminated external safety glass for the outer pane and float glass for the internal pane.  Each window has a high security twin-cam lock. 

A Stellenbosch "Old Cape"  entrance door, 3 French doors and a four-leaf Invisifold door were also fitted, all with high security features. 

The owner also wanted to reduce his energy costs, for which reason double-glazing was used for all the windows and doors.  Both the uPVC frame and double-glazing result in lower energy consumption to heat or cool the home, as they ensure that a comfortable temperature is maintained in the home throughout the year. 

REHAU's uPVC window and door frame require no maintenance except for the occasional wipe to remove dust.  This additional benefit impressed the owner, as traditional window and door systems in the coastal areas need frequent attention and costly outlays to keep them in good shape. 

In keeping with the Old Cape look of the home, decorative Ogee beading was used. 

The owner states, "We moved into the house in the middle of winter and could not be happier with our decision to replace the windows with uPVC windows. The windows look beautiful, were perfectly fitted by New Look Window Systems and offer the ideal insulation from the cold (and of course from the heat in summer). Not to mention the security aspect; we could do away with burglar bars and gates altogether - the house feels much lighter now and we have uninterrupted views into our beautiful garden. I can safely say that the windows have increased our standard of living and we would not want to go back to an alternative option."
