REHAU Celebrates EuroLine Windows Employee for Achieving Certified Passive House Consultant Designation

Alfred Jury becomes certified expert in Passive House energy efficiency and comfort standards.

06.07.2021

REHAU is celebrating its longstanding REHAU customer, EuroLine Windows Inc., and its employee Alfred Jury on becoming a Certified Passive House Consultant® (CPHC) through the Passive House Institute (PHI). As a CPHC, Jury will be providing expert guidance for EuroLine’s growing base of residential and commercial building customers who are seeking to achieve Passive House energy efficiency and comfort standards for their projects.

Originated in Europe, Passive House is a rigorous energy efficiency standard that produces buildings with superior indoor air quality and thermal comfort while reducing energy usage and ecological footprints. Passive House building principles can be applied to all building typologies, from single-family homes to multifamily apartment buildings, offices and skyscrapers.

“We are extremely proud of Alfred for his dedication to Passive House construction and for achieving this elite CPHC status,” said Ralph Childs, REHAU national sales manager. “Alfred’s CPHC designation is a natural extension of EuroLine’s existing high-performance building expertise. It also reflects our focus of having a strong team with the goals of bringing greater value and enhanced solutions to the market.”

“Windows are a fundamental element in a Passive House, and well-planned high-performance windows are a crucial means of achieving the comfort and energy balance goals”, said Jury, whose title of design consultant will now expand to include his CHPC designation. “With this in mind, I’m looking forward to helping our customers select the right technologically advanced products, while also serving as an expert guide as they go through the entire Passive House building certification process. It’s exciting to be part of a movement that can help customers and combat global climate change at the same time.”

REHAU and EuroLine, a REHAU customer since 2000, have been Passive House building advocates for decades. EuroLine was one of the first Canadian window fabricators to include in its product line the REHAU System 4700 GENEO® window – a Certified Passive House Component by the PHI.

“Both companies share a steadfast commitment to innovative design, superior product quality and exceptional customer service, which are the foundations of our successful partnership,” said EuroLine Windows President Davyd Funk. These shared values enabled REHAU and EuroLine to be involved with many residential, educational and commercial high-performance projects. Some notable examples are the Orchards at Orenco, a 3-story, 57-unit affordable housing complex that when opened in Oregon in 2015 was the largest Passive House-certified multifamily building in the United States. In 2017, REHAU windows and doors manufactured by EuroLine were used in Vancouver in The Heights, which at the time was Canada’s largest Passive House-designed multifamily building.

To become a CPHC, professionals participate in a rigorous training program to learn passive building principles, receive hands-on training in modeling and learn to design and execute commercial, residential and retrofit projects. The training is approved by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for their Continuing Education Systems and by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) for their Continuing Education Units.
